Arts & Belonging Report !

A new national report, has been released by Community Foundations of Canada in partnership with the Canadian Arts Presenting Association (CAPACOA), is shining a spotlight on the power of the arts to build a greater sense of belonging to our communities, to our country and to each other.  By helping the arts to flourish in all its forms we can continue to create communities that are both reflective of Canada's rich diversity and where everyone feels like they belong.  Read the report HERE

April 23 to 29 is National Volunteer Week.  It is also the 14th consecutive year that Volunteer Canada delivers the National Volunteer Week (NVW) campaign in partnership with Investors Group. Call for Showcase VOLUNTEERS!

OSAC is looking for volunteers from ANY Arts Council throughout Saskatchewan to help at Showcase 2017. Volunteering at Showcase would involve a couple shifts throughout the weekend. If your council would like to volunteer as a group or if an individual arts council member is interested we can offer an incentive for your assistance.

Landmark Assessment on Digitizing the Performing Arts Released

After consultation and research reports published earlier this year by Canadian Heritage and Canada Council for the Arts, CAPACOA and Strategic Moves are now thrilled to release their own assessment of the digital question from the perspective of performing arts presentation. The urgency to understand how digital innovation in the performing arts will affect Canada's performing arts presenting eco-system lies at the heart of this landmark report released. 2016 Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal !

Congratulations to Lori Glauser, Yorkton Arts Council, on receiving the 2016 Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal! A strong advocate of the Saskatchewan arts community, Lori Glauser volunteers her time and talent to develop and grow various arts and culture organizations and projects both provincially and locally. Additionally, she works to develop and enhance her community.

OSAC Touring Performance

CAPACOA 30th Conference, Showcase Submissions

Showcase Submissions are now open for the CAPACOA Conference to be held in Ottawa, ON , November 15-18, 2017.  This is a three-day gathering of Canada's national and international presenting and touring sector, the conference is an opporutnity to reconnect with your colleagues and make new connections from coast to coast.  With more than 250 presenters, agents, managers, artists and other performing arts professionals in attendance, participants can expect new networking opporunites, informative sessions and peer meetings as well as world-class theatre, music and dance showcases.

OSAC Volunteer Recognition

OSAC would not exist without the hundreds of volunteers who give tirelessly of their time and more to ensure the Arts can happen in their communities. Since 1994 OSAC has encouraged Arts Councils to nominate local volunteers who have made a difference in their community. In that time over 80 of these valuable volunteers have been recognized by OSAC and their Arts Councils. Volunteer Recognition Form

OSAC Life Member Nominations

The OSAC Board of Directors annually call for nominations for the OSAC Life Member award. This is award is presented to honour individuals (volunteer, artist, supporter, administrator) who have made MAJOR contributions to the arts provincially and through their association with OSAC. 

The individual will also have made significant contributions to the arts at the local level, in their communities, arts councils and/or schools. The individual may also have made an impact on the arts at the national or international level. Nomination Form.

OSAC launches the Curatorial Collective!

OSAC is now accepting Expressions of Interest to the Curatorial Collective, a new program designed to help OSAC Visual Arts Coordinators develop their curatorial skills. A collective of OSAC Visual Arts presenters developing Curatorial skills together in workshops; continuing professional development by building a network of participants, shared knowledge, resources and partnerships. OSAC launches Inspire! A Youth Mentoring Program for Visual Arts presenters!

A new Arts Presenting Mentorship Program for Arts Councils and Youth under age 29.  OSAC is now accepting Expressions of Interest to Inspire, a new program designed to help Arts Councils mentor and develop the next generation of visual arts presenters in their communities. Call to Visual Artists & Curators!

Professional artists and curators are invited to submit exhibition proposals for a touring exhibition with OSAC's Arts on the Move program. OSAC tours normally run up to 3 years, reaching between 10-20 communities in the province.

Work must be suitable for touring, specifically regarding dimensions, fragility and installation concerns. Juried by a Selection Committee, the exhibitions chosen will be presented at OSAC's annual conference, Showcase in October 2017.
